COVID-19 Update: Traveling With Miles During The Coronavirus, We have increased safety measures and adapted services More information
Those who drive for Miles or any ridesharing service have one complaint – not all riders tip them, even if they are doing their best. Waiters and bartenders receive 20% tip. So do taxi drivers, photographers, massage therapist, food delivery drivers, housekeepers, hairdressers and more. Not many people tip drivers.
Tipping the driver means the passenger liked the ride. It’s a great compliment anyone can receive. You may consider leaving a 5-star review at the end of the drive, but these reviews don’t pay the bills. There is nothing sweeter than receiving a tip.
There are plenty of situations where tipping becomes mandatory. Not sure you know all of them? Have a look at these scenarios:
If your driver hops out of the car to load your luggage or carry your grocery bags and helps you bring them to your home as well, then he deserves a tip, my friend.
Keep in mind drivers don’t have an obligation to carry your luggage, so don’t be under the impression that they are doing their job.
Who doesn’t love four-legged animals? Unfortunately, some drivers don’t especially if they have allergies, they are worried about the mess or fear the anima.e.som Some drivers simply decline the ride, but if they don’t, make sure you top the driver a little bit extra. Even if your dog behaves well, they are likely to leave dog hair on the seats, which can be a pain for the driver to clean. So, be generous and leave a tip.
Let’s face it; not every driver takes care of ensuring their car is squeaky clean. If you can see the effort of your driver in ensuring their car is clean, then they deserve a tip. And if the car smells nice, this confirms it even more.
Well, it’s easy to tell who is genuinely nice and who is pretending to be nice. Show your driver some appreciation by tipping them.
Long drives are great when you are on a getaway expedition but not so great when you are working, and you can’t wait for the day to end.
If your destination is 50 miles away and it is in some rural location, you should tip the driver generously. This would make their day.
Want to know why? After dropping you off, there are chances they struggle to get another ride request. They would be so appreciative that you tipped them well. Maybe instead of waiting for the next ride request, they can actually go home.
Some passengers make the driver stop at Mcdonalds drive through or Starbucks to grab a snack. If you do so, make sure you tip them for their act of generosity because drivers hate stops on a ride even if the Miles app allows the customer to do so.
